Walks and Excursions

A network of trails totalling 350 km start right outside the front door

The prime location of the Apple Hotel Torgglerhof allows you to start your hike right outside the front door without having to take the car. The trail to Merano follows the ancient Maiser Waalweg irrigation channel trail as well as the Rösslsteig trail to Dorf Tirol. The themed Schildhofweg trail is another family hike leading to a number of old farmsteads that are open to the public. If you prefer to get here without the hike, there’s the cableway station, just a 5-minute walk away from the hotel. That takes you to the Hirzer hiking area, a mountain plateau with an unspoilt landscape and numerous pastures where one can also stop and savour the local culinary delights served in the Alpine huts.

There are several trails to choose from, suitable for all ages, as well as for the fit and also the less agile. To help plan your trip, the Apple Hotel Torgglerhof has an excursion corner stocked with maps and printed tour guides. Mali Pichler is the hotel owner and expert mountain tour guide, organising twice-weekly trips in search of the most magnificent spots in the Passeier Valley. For the more adventurous, sunrise hikes to the mountain summit are arranged by the owner’s son and daughter.

Walking and hiking are the best ways to discover the Passeier Valley. Our hotel is directly connected to a network of hiking trails 350 km long
